The renewable self-consumption sector will meet in Madrid to analyse the sector’s challenges and opportunities

Madrid, 8 September 2026. The fourth edition of the event will take place on 22 September at the RIU Plaza España Hotel and will address the challenges and opportunities presented by self-consumption, energy storage, electrification and smart energy management.

Madrid will once again be the meeting place for the energy sector with the fourth edition of Energyear Self-Consumption, to be held on 22 September 2026 at the RIU Plaza España Hotel. The forum, which specialises in solar self-consumption and energy storage, will bring together more than 400 professionals, 50 speakers and 30 partners to analyse the key trends that are transforming the Spanish market and the business opportunities that will shape its future.

The self-consumption sector is entering a new phase characterised by the need to reduce energy costs, integrate energy storage, drive forward the electrification of industry and adapt to an evolving regulatory environment. Against this backdrop, Energyear Autoconsumo 2026 will place particular emphasis on the industrial and C&I sectors.

The agenda will address the new phase of self-consumption, with a particular focus on market prospects, regulation, growth opportunities and technological innovation in modules, inverters and integrated solutions.

Energy storage and flexibility will be further key areas of focus, examining how smart management enables the value and efficiency of facilities to be maximised.

Digitalisation and artificial intelligence will play a key role through new tools for monitoring and optimising energy consumption and assets.

New business and funding models will also be analysed, including approaches to Energy as a Service and contractual arrangements to promote photovoltaic projects.

Industrial electrification will also play a significant role, with a particular focus on air-source heat pumps, cost reduction and the needs of large-scale consumers.

Finally, the conference will address collective self-consumption, energy communities and convergence with electric mobility, within the context of the electrification and decarbonisation of the economy.

Among the confirmed speakers for this year’s event are representatives from some of the sector’s leading companies and organisations, such as Roberto Giner, CEO of Octopus Energy; Blanca Losada, Chair of Fortia Energía; Marta Castro, Director General of Regulation at AELEC; Jon Macías, Chair of APPA Autoconsumo; José Déciga, Head of Large-Scale Installations at Smart Solar, Iberdrola; Andrés Chami, C&I & Utility Product Manager at Fox ESS; Antonio Ramón Albert, Country Manager at Prosolia; Pablo Sánchez, Iberia C&I Solution Manager at GoodWe; and Borja Saez, CEO of Green Home Finance, amongst other professionals.

Networking aimed at generating business

As well as the talks, networking will be one of the key features of Energyear Autoconsumo 2026. The event will feature a large exhibition area where companies can showcase their latest solutions, technologies and services and connect directly with other professionals.

Attendees will also have access to an app that will enable them to identify participants, contact them and arrange meetings even before arriving at the event. In addition, there will be specially equipped spaces for business meetings and an exclusive private room for partners and sponsors, intended for strategic meetings, presentations and negotiations. The event has been designed to encourage the exchange of knowledge and, in particular, the creation of new business opportunities and strategic alliances.
