Key players in the energy sector are meeting to discuss Argentina’s future in renewable energy
Buenos Aires, 1st September 2026. Argentina is at a crucial stage in the development of its energy system. The recent award of a 700.5 MW battery storage contract through AlmaSADI, together with new projects aimed at expanding and strengthening the electricity infrastructure, presents the country with significant challenges relating to the integration of renewable energy, the development of storage and the modernisation of the grid.
Against this backdrop, on 16 and 17 September, the Faena Art Centre in Buenos Aires will host Energyear Argentina representatives from the public sector, energy companies, developers, technology manufacturers and investors to analyse market trends and the key challenges that will shape the future of the sector in Argentina.
Among the leading organisations confirmed to attend are the Ministry of Economy, Genneia, CAMMESA, DQD Energy, 360 Energy, AES Argentina, YPF, Sungrow, Axial Structural, Jinko, Kehua Tech, Aluar and Intermepro – companies that will be present at the event at a particularly significant time for the development of energy storage in Argentina.
Auctions, markets and leadership: the major debates
One of the main areas of focus will be on market developments and the opportunities presented by the new storage capacity. The recent AlmaSADI call for applications, which received more than 230 proposals from 37 companies for a capacity of around 8,300 MW – compared with an initial target of 700 MW – has set a new benchmark for BESS systems in Argentina.
This context will be analysed in depth during the event, alongside the outlook for the Argentine energy market. The Market, Auction and Leaders panels will bring together representatives from some of the sector’s leading companies and institutions to discuss the opportunities, challenges and transformations facing the industry.
The regulation and planning of the electricity system will also play a key role, with particular attention being paid to developments in the Wholesale Electricity Market and the conditions required to support the transformation of the energy mix. Energy storage, the integration of new technologies and the development of projects arising from AlmaSADI will round off some of the main discussions.
The agenda will also address other key areas for the sector’s development, such as the development of solar and photovoltaic projects, wind power, self-consumption, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and access to finance and investment for new renewable energy projects.
With over 600 professionals expected to attend, more than 80 speakers, over 50 participating companies and organisations, and more than 15 specialist panels, Energyear Argentina will bring together a significant proportion of the country’s energy ecosystem over two days to analyse the transformations that will shape the coming years.
