Su objetivo principal es disminuir la potencia m\u00e1xima demandada a la red el\u00e9ctrica durante determinados periodos, optimizando tanto los costes energ\u00e9ticos como la eficiencia del sistema.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1547\">En el sector de las energ\u00edas renovables y el almacenamiento energ\u00e9tico, el Peak Shaving se ha convertido en una de las aplicaciones m\u00e1s importantes de los sistemas BESS (Battery Energy Storage System). Durante los momentos de mayor consumo el\u00e9ctrico, las bater\u00edas suministran parte de la energ\u00eda necesaria para abastecer la instalaci\u00f3n, evitando que toda la demanda sea cubierta directamente desde la red. Como consecuencia, la potencia m\u00e1xima registrada disminuye y se reducen los costes asociados a la contrataci\u00f3n de potencia y a los cargos por demanda.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1549\" data-end=\"2076\">La creciente electrificaci\u00f3n de la industria, el aumento del autoconsumo fotovoltaico y la expansi\u00f3n de los sistemas de almacenamiento han impulsado el desarrollo del Peak Shaving como una herramienta esencial para mejorar la flexibilidad energ\u00e9tica. Actualmente, esta estrategia se aplica en plantas industriales, edificios comerciales, centros log\u00edsticos, hospitales, centros de datos, infraestructuras cr\u00edticas y grandes instalaciones renovables que buscan optimizar su consumo el\u00e9ctrico y reducir su factura energ\u00e9tica.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"2078\" data-end=\"2465\">Aunque el concepto puede parecer sencillo, el Peak Shaving requiere un control preciso del comportamiento de la instalaci\u00f3n. En una instalaci\u00f3n equipada con un sistema BESS, las bater\u00edas se cargan cuando la demanda es reducida, existe un excedente de generaci\u00f3n renovable o el precio de la electricidad resulta m\u00e1s favorable. Posteriormente, cuando el consumo aumenta y se aproxima al l\u00edmite de potencia establecido, el sistema comienza a descargar las bater\u00edas para suministrar parte de la energ\u00eda necesaria.<\/p><p data-start=\"3124\" data-end=\"3365\">De esta forma, la demanda registrada por el contador el\u00e9ctrico permanece dentro de unos valores previamente definidos, evitando penalizaciones econ\u00f3micas y reduciendo la potencia contratada necesaria para el funcionamiento de la instalaci\u00f3n. La reducci\u00f3n de los picos de consumo permite disminuir los costes asociados a la contrataci\u00f3n de potencia, mejorar el aprovechamiento de las instalaciones el\u00e9ctricas existentes y reducir la necesidad de ampliar transformadores, l\u00edneas o equipos de distribuci\u00f3n. Desde el punto de vista del sistema el\u00e9ctrico, el Peak Shaving tambi\u00e9n contribuye a mejorar la estabilidad de la red.<\/p><p data-start=\"4652\" data-end=\"4913\">Al reducir la demanda durante las horas de mayor consumo, disminuye la necesidad de poner en funcionamiento centrales de generaci\u00f3n de respaldo, normalmente basadas en combustibles f\u00f3siles, favoreciendo una mayor integraci\u00f3n de las energ\u00edas renovables. En instalaciones con autoconsumo fotovoltaico, esta estrategia permite aumentar el grado de autoconsumo, aprovechando la energ\u00eda previamente almacenada en las bater\u00edas durante los momentos en los que la producci\u00f3n solar ya no resulta suficiente para cubrir la demanda. Adem\u00e1s del ahorro econ\u00f3mico, el Peak Shaving mejora la eficiencia operativa de las empresas, incrementa la resiliencia energ\u00e9tica y reduce el impacto ambiental asociado al consumo el\u00e9ctrico procedente de fuentes convencionales.<\/p><h2 data-section-id=\"8ecams\" data-start=\"5794\" data-end=\"5838\">Principales aplicaciones del Peak Shaving<\/h2><p data-start=\"5840\" data-end=\"6150\">El Peak Shaving se utiliza en una amplia variedad de sectores donde la demanda el\u00e9ctrica presenta importantes variaciones a lo largo del d\u00eda.
