2ND EDITION

The leading networking congress in the sector returns to the U.S.

In 2024, it is expected that the United States will continue advancing towards a decarbonized electric system, with policymakers and industry stakeholders striving to harmonize climate goals with reliability, affordability, and the pursuit of net-zero emissions by 2050. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) projects a significant expansion of photovoltaic (PV) systems, with an anticipated addition of 36GW, culminating in a total capacity of 131GW. Furthermore, the capacity for battery energy storage systems is forecasted to nearly double to 31GW. Distributed energy resources are also poised for growth, with a targeted focus on distributed generation (DG) and a projected tripling in capacity to 80-160GW by 2030, potentially yielding annual power system savings of $10 billion.

However, alongside these optimistic projections driven by recent policy initiatives, the landscape is riddled with hurdles in permitting, transmission, financing, supply chains, cybersecurity, and more. Questions arise regarding how swiftly the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) can progress with the proposed Transmission Planning Rules in 2022 by 2024. Strategies to bolster grid reliability and resilience, especially against extreme weather conditions, are critical. Corporations face the challenge of establishing viable and comprehensive measures for decarbonization. The integration of distributed generation (DG) resources into the grid operation necessitates a more flexible mechanism to meet dynamic demands.

Addressing these complex issues, the second edition of Energyear USA will bring together industry thought leaders in Houston to analyze the vast electric market. The conference will explore emerging opportunities and underlying risks within the renewable energy sector: Development, Finance, and Investments.
