Statkraft is a leading international company in hydropower generation and Europe’s largest renewable producer. The group produces hydro, wind, solar and gas-fired power and also supplies district heating. It is also a global energy market management company with 4,800 employees in 19 countries.

In Spain, Statkraft has a large renewable portfolio and is the market leader in the forward sale and purchase of renewable energy, with more than 50 PPAs signed with Spanish companies and more than 1.2 GW of solar and wind capacity represented. In this way, it has become one of the major drivers of the start-up of new renewable facilities in our country in recent years.

In the area of renewable development, Statkraft already operates 500 MWp of photovoltaic capacity in Spain: 300 MWp correspond to Talayuela Solar, in the province of Cáceres, and 200 MWp to the four photovoltaic installations that the company also operates in Alcalá de Guadaíra, in Seville.

In addition to this capacity already in operation, the company is developing 2,500 MW of wind and solar capacity, with more than 200 MWp currently under construction, which will come on stream in the coming years.
