Banco Popular Dominicano is the first privately-owned bank in the Dominican Republic, leading in multiple banking and financial services in the country. It is the main company of Grupo Popular.

Founded in 1963, it opened its doors to the public in Santo Domingo on January 2, 1964.

It has 190 branches, 912 ATMs, and the most extensive network of banking sub-agents, with around 1,700 affiliated points throughout the country.

Its website, www.popularenlinea.com, closed 2016 as one of the most visited sites in the Dominican Republic, with 3.5 million monthly visits. It has over 800,000 digital customers. Last year, its digital and electronic channels handled 70.6% of all transactions.
