AEE is the voice of the wind energy sector in Spain with the aim of promoting the growth of this sustainable, strategic and beneficial technology.

With more than 290 member companies, the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE) represents more than 90% of the sector in Spain, including developers, wind turbine and component manufacturers, national and regional associations, organisations linked to the sector, lawyers, financial institutions and insurers, among others. AEE’s main objective is to promote the growth of wind energy through its interests, research, communication and education.

AEE coordinates research in strategic lines of wind technology and serves its members by responding to their different needs. In addition, the association contributes to the formulation of the regulatory framework and carries out outreach work on the reality of wind energy. AEE is a benchmark for the technical quality of its reports, studies and publications.

The Association holds the presidency and technical secretariat of the Wind Energy Sector Technology Platform (REOLTEC) and collaborates with ICEX to increase the presence of Spanish companies abroad. Thanks to the association’s various working groups, which are the backbone of AEE, practically all areas affecting wind energy, such as the environment, R&D, regulation and sector communication, are addressed.

In addition to being a member of international associations such as WindEurope, where it is a member of the Board of Directors, AEE leads and participates in various international projects and initiatives to promote the development of the wind energy sector in Spain and other countries.
