The **Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED)** is a state-owned electrical company whose objective is to operate the **National Interconnected Electrical System (SENI)** to provide high-voltage electricity transmission services throughout the national territory.
ETED is a decentralized company owned by the Dominican State, created as part of the segmentation of the electrical sector, resulting from the capitalization of the Dominican Electricity Corporation under **General Law on Public Enterprise Reform No. 141-97**, dated June 24, 1997. Its legal framework is established by the **General Electricity Law No. 125-01**, dated July 26, 2001, which regulates all aspects related to the production, transmission, distribution, and commercialization of electricity in the Dominican Republic.
To this end, the **Executive Power**, through **Decree No. 629-07** dated November 2, 2007, created ETED with effect from January 1, 2008. ETED was granted budgetary autonomy and its own legal personality, as established by the **General Electricity Law**, making it responsible for the operation, maintenance, and administration of all high-voltage networks, substations, equipment, machinery, transmission systems, and movable and immovable assets transferred from the CDE (Dominican Electricity Corporation).
This event marks a new milestone in the history of the National Transmission System and represents a significant challenge for the executive team and the workforce. They must build, operate, and maintain the networks and substations sustainably to provide quality electrical service at reasonable prices, as demanded by the population and the productive sectors of the Dominican Republic.
