The National Energy Commission (CNE) is an institution attached to the Ministry of Energy and Mines, created as a public and decentralised body under Article 7 of the General Electricity Law No. 125-01, responsible for the operational management of energy policies and for monitoring compliance with Law No. 57-07, on Incentives for the Development of Renewable Energy Sources and their Special Regimes. These competences and powers make the CNE the executing arm of public policies in the energy sector, exercised in compatibility with the legal framework of Law No. 100-13.
