Wesii is an Italian start-up established in 2016 and operating worldwide through key partnerships and a widespread network of collaborations. With over ten years of experience in multispectral remote sensing activities, acquired by its founders and key team members in major European laboratories and research centers, Wesii offers cutting-edge multispectral inspection services for a wide variety of businesses. Wesii’s applications range from solar plants to landfill monitoring, from agriculture to naval and even sports.

Wesii has combined the expertise gained in remote sensing technologies with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (‘UAVs’ or ‘Drones’) and artificial intelligence (‘AI’) for automatic image recognition, bringing innovative, reliable, and cost-effective services to various markets, available to a wide range of clients, from operators to asset managers and owners.

Since its establishment, Wesii has focused on the photovoltaic industry with AI-based aerial inspection and diagnostic services for photovoltaic modules. Current inspection practices for solar farms involve time-consuming ground inspections of photovoltaic panels, significantly impacting costs. Our technical solution involves the use of drones and, from 2021, also aircraft equipped with high-definition visual (‘RGB’) and infrared thermal (‘IR’) cameras for the thermographic analysis of photovoltaic panels. This provides a high level of precision, allowing the identification and geolocation of defects and failures affecting the photovoltaic modules.
